Christina Arampatzi is a Tango dancer since 1999 and belongs to the first generation of Tango teachers in Athens. She started as a TDj in local milongas more than 12 years ago. She regularly plays as a Dj in different events (Milongas, Festivals, Camps, Marathons) in Greece and abroad and also organizes the “Milonga Querida” in Athens. Her music is mostly based on tandas from the golden age of Tango. She likes mixing the intensity of the rhythmic Tangos with the sweetness of the most melodic Tangos, in order to make the audience enjoy all kinds of sensations on the dance floor. “I like to choose songs that people really want to dance to. Interaction and feeling the energy on the dance floor is a necessity, creating is a challenge! My main aim is to keep everyone happy from the beginning till the end. I feel that the night has successfully ended when I hear comments like “oh! You didn’t leave us sit for a second”!
Kostas Doukas is involved with Tango as a teacher, dancer and DJ. He has taught on a regular basis in several dancing schools in Athens as well as in other cities of Greece and he has put on shows and performed in several festivals and milongas both in Greece and abroad. He is a founding member of “La Yumba Team”,that organizes Milongas, Workshops and many Tango Events such as Pirincho Tango Marathon. As a DJ he has been playing music the last 4 years in marathons and milongas in Greece and abroad. Kostas feels that Djing is “like you want to embrace all the dancers together. You have to feel, all the time, their vibes and give them the energy they need, even if they don’t know it.”
Natasa , along with Alekos Papadopoulos, is the owner of Tango Room Thessaloniki, one of the biggest Tango schools in the Thessaloniki.She has which has been involved with the Argentinean Tango dance and music, as a teacher anddancer for 14 years. Her combination of being a musician (accordionist of Tango-Locos De Atar) and a Tango teacher-dancer characterizes the way she approaches her musical choices as a DJ.
Rafael first played music in his own Milonga in Larissa and very soon he got very favorable comments from the Tangolovers for his musical choices. Since then, he has been invited to the most renowned milongas and festivals in Greece and abroad. Being an experienced dancer, he tries to combine " the right tanda to the right time " keeping the dancer always lively and emotionally fulfilled during a milonga. He prefers to play rhythmic and melodic Tangos, mainly from the Golden Age (~90%) but also cheerful and powerful valses and milongas, as well. He never ceases to surprise the audience playing songs from not that usual orquestas. Gregory Sakkis is from Ioannina, Greece. He has been involved with the Argentinian Tango since 2009. He has been working as Tango teacher for 7 years and has taught Tango in various Greek cities such as: Ioannina, Trikal, Kozani, Florina, Grevena, Kastoria, Preveza, Agrinio, Katerini). He has also participated in various Tango Marathons and Festival around Greece and abroad. The last 3 years he has also been working as a Tango Dj and has played in different Milongas in Greek cites like Ioannina, Thessaloniki, Veroia, Trikal, Larisa). Gregory is also a member of Tango Nomands.
Michalis Sabethai fell in love with the sound of Tango about 10 years ago. He first tried to learn how to dance Tango and afterwards he discovered the depth of the Tango music. He recently started Dj-ing at local Milongas, combining old and new Tango orchestras. Michalis is the president of “Puerto del Tango”, the Tango association of Volos.
Sotiris Trandopoulos is from Trikala, Greece. He first encountered the Argentinian Tango in Crete where he lived for almost a decade. Tango is now a lifestyle for Sotiris and Tango music is a part from his daily life. He loves the rhythmic music that simultaneously gives a sense of harmony and melody.
